Perhaps less than 25% of the debt. This debacle should have been ended long ago. But there were some people back in 2006 questioning whether the telecom business was sustainable.

It makes sense given that early samples from lunch-time - a peak parking period in downtown Alameda - observers can count no more than a dozen or so cars in the 350 car capacity garage. Subject: Jonathan Opet

My name is Dennis Green, and I'd prefer to be quoted by name for authenticity sake. I write an occasional column for the Alameda Sun called "Geezervile, A Wry Take on Aging." Jonathan has been my editor for the past year or so, and he's done a fine job of it, promising to run at least one Geezer a month, usually near the front of the month, and when he's been in a pinch for content, he's thrown in a couple more just for ducks.

He has a light and gentle touch as an editor, cleaning up my language, because I cuss like the proverbial Naval Base Squid, and smoothing out my sometimes tangled prose, which gets that way because I'm fond os using digression as a rhetorical ploy to trick myself into discovering things I know that I didn't know.

He's young and he's probably a bit callow, as I was until just very recently. But he's never changed one of my titles, which my previous editor did, and that really drives me nuts because that's where these Emersonian essays I write all begin, with a good, strong intriguing title. Jonathan seems to have sense that, the spiral nature of my writing, and didn't mess with the seed idea at the center of it all.
I really appreciate that.

My prettiest and in some ways most fun editor at the Sun over the past 3-4 years was Suzanne LaBarre, and I must admit I did have a huge crush on the gal, took her out to lunch at Asena and Kamakura a lot, flirted with her outrageously, and generally acted myself. When she went to the Berkeley Daily Planet, she sent me pics one time of a nude in over there, knowing she'd get me going, not because of the photos, which were pretty tame, but because of the gorgeous dame who sent them.

I'm having more fun than a man can stand, this 67 year old survivor, working with the "kids" as I call them, at the Sun. They make the whole thing fun. And Julia, the lovely princess Ju-Ju as Gil Michaels calls her, he of the torid gourmet tastes, is the Ninth Wonder of my World. With her book fair, Literati, where I present workshops, to her 'zine, Red Hills Review, where I've published several short memoirs and a poem about Spaulding Gray, to her winsome, unbreakable spirit, she is the tops.

And she's using my new series of personal character studies, "My Little Town."

So I wish Jonathan well. He's like the "Rolling Soul" they speak of in the Kaballa, and he will gather no moss.
